My name is Alejandro Geronés and I was born in Cuba in a small town called Cumanayagua. I have lived in Canada for almost 15 years and I work for a software company. After many years of planning and adjustment, I was able to establish a life here in Canada. It’s always difficult in the beginning for everyone who immigrates to a new place.

Miguelina

I left my town when I finished high school in Cuba, and I went to live in La Habana to study art. I was later offered a contract to teach at a fine arts school in Cartagena, Colombia. I ended up here in Fredericton because of Alejandro, my husband. He was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend. After high school I went my way, he went his way, and we reconnected again through the Internet.
